Readers who had started to believe that it would never rain again in their favourite city will be astonished, and perhaps even delighted to hear that the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has announced that it WILL rain in most parts of Indonesia in October!!
Nothing like a good rain for cleaning out the kali of course so I guess we should be thankful.
This almost unbelievable forecast, while straining all credibility after several months of drought, does in fact sit squarely with the facts, not least the weather trends seen in these parts over the last 10,000 years or so.
One would be more assured by this of course if this was not the same lady who told us in May 2010, “don’t worry, the dry season is about to start”, when of course it, er, never did.
Pleased to report that Mata Pribabdi’s own Climate, Agro Climate and Maritime Division Head, Rich Whyme today issued this weather forecast for tomorrow which he tells us is also good for the following fifty years, “it will be hot and might rain” he said, adding, “I’m off to the Blok, give me a call if anything changes“.
